Staffordshire Ambassador Event
Event: A Place of Heritage and Culture
The Staffordshire Ambassador Network brings organisations and individuals together across the county to put Staffordshire on the map. We have an amazing story to tell, and such a lot to be proud of, but we all need to talk the place up, celebrate our successes; together we need to act as ambassadors for Staffordshire and get our story out there.
Join us in the beautiful town of Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands for our first event of 2025, as we host our event in the recently refurbished Market Hall. We’ll be finding out more about the work that’s taken place as well as shining a spotlight on just a small selection of the unique and historic attractions, projects and organisations that represent our county’s rich heritage, cultural and arts offering.
We’ll be exploring:
- How history and heritage can be used as a platform for places to celebrate their unique culture
- Community engagement with culture and heritage as custodians of places
- Why investment in our county’s heritage attractions is so important
- How culture and arts organisations/attractions are educating and inspiring local communities, including future generations and the challenges to overcome
Event speakers:
- Cllr Mike Gledhill, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council
- Sarah Bird, Director, OUTSIDE Arts
- Simon Davies, Founder Teapot Factory CIC
- Joanna Terry, Staffordshire History Centre (Staffordshire County Council)
The event will be compered by Simon Warburton, We Are Staffordshire Place Board Member and Executive Director, Lichfield Cathedral. Presentations will be followed by a Q&A with all of the speakers.
Refreshments will be served upon arrival.
Parking is available via the pay and display car parks in Leek town centre.
