Stoford ready to launch award winning development

Stoford will proudly launch Pets at Home, Stafford this month, following the completion of the 63,000 sqm (670,000 sqft) of floorspace that saw deliveries from the site commence at Christmas 2022.  Pets at Home has won industry awards (Midlands Property Awards 2022 – Industrial Deal of the Year and IAS Awards 2022 – Deal of Year over 250,000 sq ft) since planning permission was granted in January 2021.  The project is testament to the strong working relationship between Stoford, Stafford Borough and Staffordshire County Council who worked closely together over the turbulence of Covid and lockdowns in 2020/21 to secure this development.

Pets at Home are kick starting their facility with some 800 jobs, with plans to employ circa 1200 local people within the next 5-10 years.  Within this built to suit facility, Pets at Home are investing in equipment and technologies that will facilitate their growth plans, representing an investment value of over £120m.

Stoford, like Staffordshire, believe in the potential of logistics development to bring investment and long term employment opportunities into the County.  To that end we are proudly working with a local school in Stafford, delivering careers talks and facilitating opportunities for pupils to learn about the diversity of careers within logistics, which has widened in recent years as a direct result of technology advancements.  We also contributed to the recent Staffordshire Round Table Logistics discussions, chaired by Staffordshire County Council and attended by key stakeholders.

The accessibility of Staffordshire, to motorway and rail networks has also encouraged Stoford to enter into land agreements to promote a further 148 acres of land at Stafford and 89 acres at Stone through the Local Plan review process and engage with a number of potential occupiers.
