Big Top Arena Launches at Trentham with Explosive Opening Production: We Will Rock You

A bold new live entertainment venue is set to open this spring as the Big Top Arena launches at Trentham, bringing large-scale, high-energy performances to the heart of Staffordshire. The venue will open with the smash-hit rock musical We Will Rock You, promising audiences an electrifying new way to experience live shows.

Purpose-built inside a striking, fully heated Big Top tent, the Big Top Arena has been designed to deliver the atmosphere of a major gig with the comfort and production quality of a modern theatre. With seating for over 800 audience members complete with the latest technology in sound and lighting, and an unmistakable sense of occasion.

The launch production, We Will Rock You, written by Ben Elton and featuring more than 20 of Queen’s greatest hits, is a full-throttle rock musical packed with anthems including Bohemian Rhapsody, Don’t Stop Me Now, Radio Ga Ga, Somebody to Love and We Are the Champions. Set in a future where live music has been banned, the show follows a group of outsiders who rediscover the power of rock, rebellion and individuality. More gig than traditional theatre, the production is aimed squarely at music lovers, fans of live bands, and audiences looking for a big night out.

The Big Top Arena has been created to attract both local audiences and visitors, complementing Trentham’s reputation as one of the UK’s most popular leisure destinations. The venue will host a programme of large-scale musicals, concerts and special events, with We Will Rock You setting the tone for a new, more immersive style of live performance in the region.
