Staffordshire Businesses Invited to Showcase at House of Commons for Staffordshire Day’s 10th Anniversary

We Are Staffordshire will mark the 10th anniversary of Staffordshire Day in 2026 with a landmark event at the House of Commons and local businesses are invited to take part.

The showcase, taking place on Tuesday 28th April, will celebrate Staffordshire’s innovation, creativity, and economic strength on a national stage, bringing together MPs, policy makers, and industry leaders.

Businesses from across Staffordshire’s districts and boroughs can enter a ballot to exhibit at the event with representatives from each area selected to represent the county.

Alongside wider displays from Staffordshire’s makers, creators and innovators, the event will also welcome local food and drink producers to share samples of their products with guests.

Staffordshire Day takes place annually on 1st May. The first official Staffordshire Day celebrations took place in 2016, the year the county turned 1,000 years old. 1 May was chosen as the date through a public poll as it is the anniversary of Josiah Wedgwood setting up his pottery company in 1759.

We Are Staffordshire is the county’s place marketing delivery organisation and was set up to promote Staffordshire as a great place to live, work, visit, invest and learn.

Hannah Ault, Chair of We are Staffordshire’s Place Board said:

“This is a great opportunity for Staffordshire businesses to step forward and be seen on a national stage. By taking Staffordshire into the House of Commons, we can showcase the strength, innovation, and diversity of our business community. We want businesses of all sizes, from every part of the county, to put themselves forward and help show what Staffordshire has to offer.”

The event is being sponsored by Staffordshire MPs, Leigh Ingham MP for Stafford, Eccleshall and the villages and Gareth Snell MP for Stoke-on-Trent Central.

Leigh Ingham MP said:

“Staffordshire is full of brilliant businesses, from engineering and manufacturing to hospitality, leisure, and retail. This event is about celebrating our success on a national stage, and I’m excited to see businesses from all across the county put themselves forward.”

Gareth Snell MP said:

“The strength of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire lies with our forward thinking and innovative people. From world-class manufacturing to cutting-edge creative technology, our businesses are shaping the future and creating opportunities for people across the UK. This event is about giving them the platform they deserve in Parliament and showing the country what Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent can achieve.”

Ballot entries are open now and close on Friday 20 February 2026.
