Staffordshire Universities celebrate being named among best in the UK

Keele University has been ranked by students as being the best in the UK in the nationwide Student Crowd Awards, with Staffordshire University taking 4th spot.

Keele won the coveted No.1 spot in the “Best UK University” category in this year’s awards, highlighting its commitment to providing an outstanding student experience.

The Student Crowd Awards are based purely on verified student feedback with nearly 16,000 reviews being used to decide the winners of all 11 award categories.

The reviews used in the assessment were posted between June 2020 and May 2022, highlighting not only the outstanding student experience on offer at Keele in general, but the extra support that students received throughout the Covid pandemic.

Keele also performed strongly in the Value for Money and Accommodation categories of this year’s awards.

Staffordshire University made the Top 20 in four of the 11 categories in the 2022 Awards. In addition to 4th in the best universities category, it was 9th place for Job Prospects and performed highly for Course Content and Teaching Quality.

Both universities appearing in this year’s overall Top 5, shows that students who choose to study in Staffordshire rate their experience highly.

Professor Trevor McMillan OBE, Vice-Chancellor of Keele University said: “We are delighted to have been ranked as the Best UK University in this year’s Student Crowd awards, and the fact that this award is a direct result of our students’ feedback is particularly humbling and welcome.”

Dr Annabel Kiernan, Pro Vice Chancellor for Education at Staffordshire University, said: “This is excellent news for Staffordshire University and for our wider county. We aim to provide all our students with a first-class academic experience which is inclusive, supportive and which can help them to achieve career success.”
