Discover county’s new business centre and events hall at open afternoon
People can find take a tour of a new business enterprise centre and events space in Stafford’s Shire Hall this month.
The Shire Hall Business Centre, which opened in July following a £2million fit out, is located at the rear of the building in the area which used to accommodate Stafford’s library.
Like the county council’s other enterprise centres, it offers office space, reception facilities, meeting areas, networking opportunities and business advice and support. The units range from 97 sqft to 323 sqft and there are flexible working options including hot desking and the option to rent a mailbox.
The open afternoon on Wednesday November 30 will enable people to find out more about the business centre and the assembly hall, which could offer space for exhibitions, conferences and other events following refurbishment. People can visit between 2pm and 4pm and access by the Market Street entrance to the business centre.
Stafford Chambers of Commerce was among the first of seven initial occupants to move into the exciting new business centre, which is an interesting mix of historic building and modern office space. Centre management is based in the building, which offers an ideal town centre location, close to amenities like the railway station and cafes.
Any businesses wanting to find out more about unit costs and availability, or that wants to book a viewing at any time, should contact Samantha Neal, centre administrator, at samantha.neal@staffordshire.gov.uk
Staffordshire County Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for economy and skills Philip White said:
“The Shire Hall Business Centre is the latest of our enterprise centres and offers fantastic facilities to small businesses, giving them an ideal environment to grow and thrive with flexible tenancies and a support team on-site. This month’s open afternoon will give people the opportunity to take a tour of the building, see the new centre and ask any questions.
“We are also looking at how we can bring the assembly hall back into regular use and we are considering a variety of options for how we can do this in a way that fits with the historic nature of the building.
“Having the Shire Hall open again and in productive use is important for Stafford and will play a significant part in the wider regeneration of the town.
The assembly hall is currently in the process of being refurbished and we look forward to announcing further details about the reopening in due course.
