Double Win for NSCG at FE First Awards

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) celebrated a double win at the prestigious College Marketing Network FE First Awards earlier this week.

The newly redesigned NSCG website earned a Highly Commended Award in the Web Development category, highlighting the commitment to improving inclusivity and accessibility. The redesign also aimed to streamline navigation and engagement, drive course applications and improve user experience.

The impact of these improvements has been substantial, with NSCG seeing a significant increase in full-time, adult, higher education and apprenticeship applications during the 2023/24 academic year.

Held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Birmingham, the FE First Awards celebrate excellence in marketing across the further education sector, recognising institutions that demonstrate innovation and impact.

The second award of the evening came in the Prospectus category, where the NSCG Marketing Team secured the Gold Award, the top prize for the category. The prospectus features current students, who participate in a professional photoshoot, as well as including real-life success stories from alumni, insights into student support services, and interactive digital elements such as QR codes.

Produced predominately in-house, the prospectus goes through an extensive market research process, incorporating feedback from local school pupils and insights gathered through NSCG’s annual ‘Student Conference.’

Joanne Wilson, Director of Marketing, PR and Schools Liaison at NSCG, said: “We are incredibly proud to have been recognised at the FE First Awards for our commitment to excellence in further education marketing and student engagement. These awards are a testament to the hard work and creativity of our talented marketing team. The success of our website and prospectus demonstrates the real impact the team has when it comes to helping students make informed choices about their future.”
