NSCG shines at HEIST and Staffordshire Business Awards

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is celebrating a double award win for its Marketing Team.

Recognised at the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Business Awards, NSCG’s Director of Marketing, PR and Schools Liaison, Jo Wilson, won the We Are Staffordshire ‘Ambassador of the Year’ award. Hosted at Uttoxeter Racecourse, Jo was one of four ambassadors who were shortlisted for the award, recognising those who go above and beyond in championing Staffordshire, both within the county and on a wider stage.

Jo has worked closely with us on a number of initiatives and plays a key role in promoting the county as a destination for education and employment.

Speaking on her win, Jo said: “To win this award is truly humbling. As a proud ‘Stokie’ and champion of our home county, it’s an honour to support the work of We Are Staffordshire and to be recognised amongst likeminded individuals who are passionate about making Staffordshire an even better place to live, work and learn.”

The wider Marketing team was nominated at the HEIST Awards, which were hosted at the Royal Armouries in Leeds and celebrate excellence and innovation in education marketing.

Finalists in two categories, the team secured the Gold Award for ‘Best Prospective Student Journey’, recognising their work in guiding new students from initial interest through to enrolling at NSCG.

These latest wins mark the fourth national accolade for NSCG’s Marketing Team in 2025, following a double success at the FE First Awards earlier this year, where they received a Gold Award for their Prospectus and a Highly Commended in the Web Development category.

Jo added: “I am incredibly proud to see the entire team recognised at national level. Winning Gold for Best Prospective Student Journey is a fantastic achievement and we were up against some tough competition from leading further education providers and universities. It is a real reflection of the creativity, care and learner first approach that goes into the student experience at NSCG. From the first enquiry to enrolment, our goal is always to make every student feel supported, informed and excited about their next steps with us.”
