Burton-based staging company make their mark in Trafalgar Square

Burton-based staging and crewing company T3W were the stage suppliers of choice for a triad of major events which took place over the summer at London’s Trafalgar Square.

Providing staging solutions for McLaren Racing Live: London (produced by Velocity Experience), Pride in London, and Canada Day (both run by LS Events), T3W’s structures supported a week of high-profile performances and public showcases in one of the capital’s most iconic locations.

Run by brothers Mark, Paul, and Andrew Gibson, T3W brought over two decades of experience to the build, installing a bespoke 14-metre-wide covered performance space, technical wings, PA towers, video wall structures, and a wheelchair-accessible lift — all tailored to the unique constraints of the site. Protective measures were also implemented to safeguard Trafalgar Square’s historic flagstones and surrounding heritage infrastructure.

LS Events’ production manager Julia Bruns praised the team’s professionalism and adaptability, noting their collaborative approach and responsiveness to build changes across the three events.

Paul led the build with his team of eight skilled stage builders, who worked under tight time pressures due to the central London location to meet strict deadlines. Despite the challenges and weather conditions ranging from blistering 32°C heat to torrential rain and thunderstorms, the team successfully completed the build within the strict two-day window and dismantled the stage in one day.

The stage hosted a range of performances and appearances, including McLaren Racing figures such as Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, Mika Häkkinen, and Zak Brown, as well as musical acts for Canada Day and Pride in London, headlined by Chaka Khan and Durand Bernarr.

Beyond Trafalgar Square, T3W also supported a number of other high-profile events this summer, including shows by Ed Sheeran, Black Sabbath, Oasis, ELO, Drake, and Gracie Abrahams, as well as providing crew for the Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
