From platform to public square in two minutes: Goods Yard’s new station link revealed

All-aboard for Goods Yard as social impact developer Capital&Centric unveils the newly completed path connecting Stoke-on-Trent station with the city’s freshest urban quarter. New drone footage also shows the path from platform 2 right to the heart of the community.

The new route cuts commuters’ travel time by more than 70%. Instead of a trudge round the perimeter, visitors and residents can now step off the train into the heart of the buzzing and verdant neighbourhood in under two minutes.

This is just the latest step for the city’s biggest regeneration project. Goods Yard has brought 174 homes, new workspaces, indie food spots, and a public square to this once forgotten corner of Stoke-on-Trent. The neighbourhood also features next-level amenities including a gym, mini-cini, and resident lounge, all managed by Capital&Centric’s in house residential management operator, Ollo.

The community opened its doors last year and has already welcomed more than a hundred residents alongside coffee specialist, Cotton. Global property advisor Avison Young has also now moved into the pavilion building, with Panko & Sushi set to open its doors before the end of the year.

Tom Wilmot, joint managing director at Capital&Centric, said:

“The new pedestrian and cycle route has completely transformed people’s arrival experience in Stoke-on-Trent, replacing a typical pavement walk for something that feels part of the neighbourhood from the moment they arrive in the city. It perfectly captures the vision behind Goods Yard – crafting a place which connects seamlessly with Stoke and its transport links.”

The link road enhances the appeal for both residents and the growing community of indie businesses at Goods Yard.

With direct station access now in place, the remaining commercial spaces are expected to be nabbed up quickly, with local operators keen to get in on the action.

Those interested in the remaining apartments can find out more at www.olloliving.co.uk/locations/goods-yard, while businesses interested in the commercial spaces can contact goodsyard@capitalandcentric.com.
