Kyocera SGS Announces Major Investment in Fradley Park
Kyocera SGS Precision Tools Europe Ltd has announced the relocation of its European Headquarters from Wokingham, Berkshire, to the Kyocera Unimerco facility in Fradley, Staffordshire – a move that will bring new skilled jobs and long-term economic benefits to the local area.

The relocation represents a significant investment into the Fradley Business Park and will see the creation of new roles across manufacturing, engineering, research and development, logistics and operational support. As Kyocera establishes its new European base in Fradley, the move will strengthen Staffordshire’s growing reputation as a hub for advanced manufacturing and engineering excellence.
By creating Kyocera’s largest carbide tooling manufacturing site in Europe, the development will support local employment, provide new career opportunities for skilled workers and apprentices, and encourage further collaboration with local suppliers and regional training institutions. The expansion is also expected to stimulate demand for local services, from transport and logistics to hospitality and professional services.
The purpose-built 6.4-acre facility will significantly increase production capacity and introduce enhanced Research and Development capabilities, enabling greater innovation while supporting sustainable growth within the region.
Hugh Welch, European Managing Director of Kyocera SGS Precision Tools Europe, commented: “This relocation marks an exciting new chapter for our business and for the Fradley community. By establishing our European Headquarters here, we are creating new skilled jobs, investing in local talent and contributing to the long-term prosperity of the area. Fradley’s strong industrial heritage and excellent transport links make it the ideal location to support our continued growth and commitment to UK manufacturing.”
While the Kyocera SGS and Kyocera Unimerco brands will continue to operate as independent businesses, their co-location will enable shared infrastructure, knowledge exchange and greater operational efficiencies, further reinforcing Fradley Park’s position as a centre for high-value manufacturing.
The relocation forms part of Kyocera Corporation’s global strategy as they aim to become the world’s leading carbide tooling company, underpinned by ongoing investment in advanced manufacturing technologies, sustainable processes and skills development.
