More than 30 Staffordshire parks and green spaces awarded Green Flag status

The Green Flag Award, presented by Keep Britain Tidy, is the international quality mark for parks and green spaces, celebrating sites that demonstrate outstanding standards of environmental management, horticulture and visitor experience.

This year’s success sees green spaces across Staffordshire recognised for their quality, accessibility and contribution to the wellbeing of local communities and visitors.

Among the notable achievements, Newcastle-under-Lyme has received Green Flag Awards for eight parks and green spaces, while six sites in Stafford Borough and six in Cannock Chase District have also been recognised.

The National Memorial Arboretum has retained its Green Flag Award for the sixth consecutive year, recognising the outstanding care and visitor experience offered at the nationally significant site.

The awards are announced in the same months as Love Parks Week, the annual celebration of the nation’s parks and green spaces, highlighting the important role they play in supporting health and wellbeing, connecting people with nature and bringing communities together.

Love Parks Week encourages residents and visitors to get outdoors and enjoy their local parks and green spaces, whether through walking, cycling, spending time with family and friends, or simply enjoying nature.
