National Memorial Arboretum named ‘Best UK Attraction’ for third consecutive year

The National Memorial Arboretum, in the National Forest in Staffordshire, was named ‘Best UK Attraction’ at the 2023 Group Leisure & Travel Awards for the third consecutive year.

The Group Leisure & Travel awards recognise the best providers, attractions and destinations for groups, with the winners voted for by readers of Group Leisure & Travel magazine. In scooping the Best UK Attraction award, the Arboretum triumphed over impressive competition from other major visitor destinations, including Windsor Castle, Longleat and Buckingham Palace.

“The whole team of staff and volunteers at the Arboretum works incredibly hard together to deliver a world-class experience for all of our visitors, and the fact that the Arboretum has been named Best UK Attraction three years in a row is testament to this,” said Mark Ellis, National Memorial Arboretum Lead. “Whether enjoying a guided tour with extended family, taking part in Remembrance Sunday commemorations with comrades or enjoying festive food and entertainment with friends, we always try to go the extra mile to make groups feel welcome at the Arboretum.”

Set in 150-acres of gardens and woodlands, the Arboretum is the Nation’s year-round place to Remember and is home to over 400 memorials dedicated to those who serve our country in the Armed Forces, emergency services, and civilian services. Each year, the Arboretum welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors for Acts of Remembrance, family days out and a wide range of events and exhibitions. It also offers bespoke packages for groups, from Christmas Lunches with a Swing to personalised tours.

For more information about visiting the Arboretum with a group, including for forthcoming events such as Remembrance Sunday or Illuminated Arboretum, visit www.thenma.org.uk/groups or call 01283 245100.
