Staffordshire Pubs Shine at the Great British Pub Awards 2025

Staffordshire is raising a glass in celebration after two of its standout venues were honoured at the prestigious Great British Pub Awards 2025.

The Crown Wharf in Stone has been named Overall Great British Pub of the Year, having first secured the title of Best Town Pub. Owned by Joule’s Brewery and opened in 2021, Crown Wharf triumphed over hundreds of pubs nationwide, impressing judges with its exceptional hospitality, strong community focus, and outstanding customer experience.

Joule’s Brewery shared:

“Crown Wharf was purpose-built for Stone, designed to reflect the town’s heritage and Joule’s brewing story. The space brings together the warmth of a proper pub with the scale and character of a canalside beer hall, complete with quieter corners in the Lamb and Flag and a theatre and heritage centre next door.

As the flagship tap for Joule’s Brewery, every pint poured here is brewed just up the road in Market Drayton. From our core cask ales to small batch and seasonal brews, we take great pride in the care and quality of every beer we serve.

This award belongs to our team, our regulars, our neighbours and everyone who has supported Crown Wharf since the doors first opened. Thank you for helping us build something special here in Stone.”

Also flying the flag for Staffordshire, The Manor House of Whittington in Kinver was awarded Marston’s Pub of the Year, further highlighting the county’s excellence in pub culture.

Winners were selected through a rigorous judging process led by top industry experts, celebrating the very best of British pubs.

Whether you’re a local or visiting the area, these award-winning venues offer a warm welcome and a memorable experience — well worth a visit!
