A SYMPHONY IN A BOTTLE: NELSON’S DISTILLERY PARTNERS WITH MUSIC LEGEND

This December marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic hit “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday” by Wizzard. That’ll be 18,262 days of Christmas Cheer for frontman, songwriter and producer, Dr Roy Wood.

In celebration of this milestone, Nelson’s Distillery, based near Uttoxeter, has teamed up with the rock legend for a third collaboration. Introducing the ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day 50th Anniversary Gin,’ by Dr Roy Wood.  A limited-edition commemorative spirit that captures the very essence of the holiday season with every sip. Plus, every penny Roy earns from this collaboration goes straight to his chosen charity.

Crafted by Roy himself, this seasonal spirit boasts  notes of cinnamon, mulled spices and sweet orange, intertwined with  juniper.

In addition to crafting the recipe, Roy also employed his artistic background to personally design the label. This project was driven by the desire to offer fans of his and the beloved Christmas hit a truly exceptional and personalised experience.

Roy said, ” I am pleased to have been invited to collaborate once more with Nelson’s, and to have designed the label for this gin. This allows me the opportunity to use my art school background in a useful capacity. This tipple is not only a superb liquid refreshment, but will also be very useful as a seasonal gift.”

Roy will be signing bottles of ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day 50th Anniversary Gin’ at the Nelson’s Distillery on Sunday 19th November 2023. Places for the event can be booked here.   These limited-edition bottles are sure to become a cherished memento for any Christmas enthusiast and collectors alike.

Alongside commemorating the 50th anniversary of the iconic hit, the collaboration between Roy Wood and Nelson’s Distillery & School also carries a deeper mission. In honour of Roy Wood’s remarkable contributions to the world of music, Nelson’s are launching a campaign to propel the cherished Christmas anthem “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day” to the top of the charts, securing its spot as the Christmas number one for the first time in its history. More information will soon be shared on how people can be part of this musical milestone while enjoying the spirit of the season with a sip of ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day 50th Anniversary Gin.’
