Cathedral Sparkles with Trees and Wreaths This Christmas!

Step into the wonder of Christmas at Lichfield Cathedral as the Christmas Tree Festival is now open: from Thursday 4 December to Sunday 4 January, during visitor hours.

Marvel at a stunning display of real Christmas trees, each beautifully decorated by local businesses, schools, and charities – a true celebration of community creativity and festive spirit.

New for 2025: This year, visitors can enjoy an exciting addition – a spectacular selection of hand-crafted wreaths showcased on the historic Fenland Black Oak table, adding even more seasonal charm to the Cathedral’s festive offering.

Organised by the Friends of Lichfield Cathedral and kindly sponsored by Lovell, the Christmas Tree Festival is a highlight of Advent in Lichfield, drawing families and friends together to share in the joy of the season.

After-hours magic at the Christmas Light Show

For an extra-special experience, combine your visit with the Christmas Light Show. After exploring the dazzling outdoor displays, step inside the Cathedral to wander among rows of twinkling trees in the quire aisles. Families love this part of the evening – a cosy, festive space filled with colour, warmth, and Christmas cheer.

And new this year, discover the beautiful wreath display, created by local schools, charities, and businesses, celebrating imagination and community spirit.

We can’t wait to welcome you to Lichfield Cathedral this Advent and Christmas!
