Eccleshall couple’s luxury accommodation shortlisted for 3 Staffordshire Tourism Awards.

Andy and Helen, the owners of Eagle House in Eccleshall, are thrilled to be finalists in three different categories of the 2024 Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good food awards. The prestigious award ceremony takes place on 14th March 2024 at the National Memorial Arboretum in Lichfield,  and is the 10th anniversary of this distinguished event.

The husband and wife team have worked really hard over the last 2 years, setting up and running their accommodation business. With no previous experience in hospitality, the former Nurse and Nuclear Physicist have been on a steep learning curve and enjoyed every minute of their adventure together.

They have made it through to the final stage of the competition having been pitted against 140 applicants. Having won the Silver award for their Bed and Breakfast in last year’s competition, they are delighted to now be shortlisted in three categories, acknowledging their progression and success. These are; B&B/Guest House of the Year, Self-Catering Accommodation of the Year as well as the award for Ethical, responsible & Sustainable Tourism.

Andy said “ It is a great honour to be in the running for these awards. For such a new business, with our little team of two, it is a real achievement for us to be competing against fantastic and well established businesses such as Alton Towers and the Trentham Estate.”

Eagle House is stunning grade 2 listed residence, with over 200 years of history. It offers three spacious and elegant Bed and Breakfast rooms as well as the Eagle’s Nest, a cosy one bedroom self-catering Apartment. It’s luxurious, with lots of little extras and is also committed to sustainability. It is the only accommodation provider in the area with an Electric Car Charger for guests!

Located in Eccleshall, in the heart of Staffordshire, Eagle House is just a few minutes stroll from its thriving and elegant High Street, containing an array of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes.

Helen said “We feel so lucky to live in Eccleshall! It is such a warm and welcoming community, there is always something going on and so many nice places to eat and drink. But we also have the tranquil Staffordshire countryside right on our door step and our guests also love to explore all the pretty woods and footpaths”.

The couple have had a great year running their hospitality business, seeing an increase in bookings and continually improving their accommodation. They are excited to attend the award ceremony and celebrate all they have achieved with the other finalists.
