Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Hospitality Awards

The crème-de-la-crème of Staffordshire tourism and hospitality have recently been crowned at this year’s Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards, sponsored by We Are Staffordshire.

Now the Tourism & Good Food Awards are back for 2022/23 and the new competition is open for entries! Find out more about how to take part.

Following a two-year hiatus due to Coronavirus, businesses from across the county gathered at Keele Hall, Newcastle-under-Lyme, for the glittering black-tie event.

It was the chance to celebrate Staffordshire’s fantastic tourism and food & drink businesses, including visitor attractions, places to stay, restaurants, pubs and tea rooms.

The Large Visitor Attraction of the Year was The Trentham Estate, while the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year award went to Foxfield Railway.

Hotel of the Year was won by the CBeebies Land Hotel at Alton Towers Resort, while The Little George was the B&B and Guest House of the Year, and Mayfield Snuggery took gold in the Self-Catering Accommodation category.

The Independent Restaurant of the Year was No26 at Aston Marina, and the Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year was The Three Horseshoes Country Inn.

The Meynell Ingram Arms won Pub of the Year, the Ramblers Retreat was Tea Room/Coffee Shop of the Year, and Denstone Hall Farm Shop was the Food & Drink Retailer/Farm Shop of the Year.

In all, there were 16 categories covering the best places to visit and places to stay in Staffordshire. For a full list of winners, visit Enjoy Staffordshire.

Now, the winners of 14 categories will go on to represent Staffordshire at the national Visit England Awards for Excellence this June.

Philip White, deputy leader of Staffordshire County Council, said: “Our tourism businesses continue to deliver year on year, attracting more and more visitors to the county, generating millions of pounds for our local economy and sustaining tens of thousands of jobs.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the sector and I would like to say a huge congratulations to all the winners and finalists.”
