Exciting times ahead for Delivery Groups
In March, we held the launch event for our We Are Staffordshire Place Board Delivery Groups at Keele University, where we welcomed colleagues from a range of Staffordshire organisations and businesses who donated their time, expertise (and enthusiasm!) to share ideas to promote Staffordshire far and wide.
Three groups were launched to focus on specific areas of activity and volunteers were recruited who have specific experience in those areas. Our We Are Staffordshire Place Board members chair the groups and lead the activities.
The areas of focus are:
- Young people taskforce – focusing on young people’s perceptions of Staffordshire, instil pride and present a compelling reason to stay; open opportunities/pathways to meaningful employment/training
- External engagement /outreach – engaging, make connections and influence senior stakeholders and leaders beyond our borders who can make change happen
- National PR and social media – supporting our mission to raise awareness of and grow Staffordshire’s reputation through positive national PR opportunities, journalist tours and features
With 6 months passing since the launch, we wanted get back together with the groups to recap, reflect and discuss progress made so far and what better venue for a catch up than Staffordshire University’s ultra modern new Catalyst building.
Interactive and discussion-led updates, followed by lively breakout sessions helped to mix up groups and generate new ideas and connections.
Thank you once again to all of our group members who are giving their time to support us in flying the flag for Staffordshire – we couldn’t be making the progress we are without their efforts and dedication.
