Foxfield Railway’s Bumper Summer Season gets underway this weekend!

The award winning Foxfield Railway, Blythe Bridge, Staffordshire will kick off its summer season with a bang when the railway hosts a free event for the Lion’s Club International on Saturday 9th July.  This annual event returns following the pandemic and the railway couldn’t be happier to be hosting it again.

The Lion’s Club expect around 600 invited disadvantaged families to be in attendance for the event who will be able to ride on the steam trains, pet the Donkey’s, enjoy fairground rides and much more.

Richard Barnett, FLRS Spokesperson said “We are excited to be able to launch our season with such a significant and prominent event. It’s a way of giving back to the local community so we are pleased to be working with the Lion’s Club again.”

This curtain raising event is the start of a series of special events taking place at Foxfield. Darth Vader descends onto the railway for their Sci Fi theme day on the 24th July before Dinosaurs and Wizard’s take over for the summer holidays.

Richard went on to say “We are particularly excited about our summer programme of events including our Wizard Adventure trains. You’ll be able to meet some fabulous wizards and take part in some fabulous activities on board our steam hauled train.”
