Lichfield District Council showcases city-wide investment opportunities at national conference

Lichfield District Council is proud to unveil a bold investment proposition at this year’s UKREiiF (UK Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum) conference, placing Lichfield firmly on the map for regeneration and development.

With three development sites now open for interest as part of the transformational Birmingham Road regeneration project, the council is also using the opportunity to start wider conversations about future masterplans across the district, including Trent Valley Station, Burntwood masterplan and Lichfield’s Bird Street.

The council’s delegation will be engaging with investors, developers, and urban regeneration experts all week at the UK’s leading investment conference in Leeds.

Councillor Doug Pullen, Leader of Lichfield District Council, said: “Lichfield offers a rare blend; strong heritage appeal, a growing, well-connected economy, and a council that’s proving it can move at pace with the right partners. We’re looking for developers and investors who see the long-term value in creating places people are proud to live in, work and visit.”

The Birmingham Road Site, a key gateway into the city, marks the first phase of this regeneration strategy. Anchored by the upcoming Everyman Cinema (set to open in Spring 2026), the site is already attracting strong interest.

Lichfield District Council will hold discussions about the next phases of the City Centre Gateway project which includes two housing zones and a retail, food and beverage zone.

Demolition of the former multi-storey car park is now complete, and a new cinema plaza is in the works to transform the area into a vibrant public realm. One residential parcel (Zone 1) is already sold subject to contract.

To support delivery, the Council has also published a Design Code to ensure all development meets high standards in design, sustainability, and placemaking. View the design code on the Council’s website.

The Birmingham Road project is just the beginning. The Council is now actively looking to engage with partners on shaping the future of key sites, including potential regeneration at Trent Valley Station and revitalisation along Bird Street.

Developers and investors interested in these unique opportunities are encouraged to explore further details via the council’s website and register their interest directly.
