MAYOR OFFICIALLY OPENS £1MILLION ‘CHRISTMAS AT TRENTHAM’ LIGHT TRAIL

Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Councillor Chandra Kanneganti, attended the launch of the Christmas at Trentham light trail, which takes place until 9th January 2022.

Located at Staffordshire’s Trentham Gardens, the trail is brought to you by award-winning events team, Kilimanjaro. Alongside dbnAudile, Walk the Plank, Illuminos, and local arts programme Appetite, they have created a brand-new totally unique illuminated trail, designed to get everyone in the Christmas spirit and showcase the stunning historic landscape at Trentham in a new light.

With an exclusive preview night held on Thursday 25th November, organisers behind the event revealed a first look at the ‘Christmas at Trentham’ with highlights including a 32ft Christmas tree, ‘Arbora Borealis’ light display, origami ships floating on the iconic river, and a 100metre ‘Trellis of Light’. All of which took a team of around 45 people over a month to install.

Visitors can also expect a series of magnificent projections featuring the iconic flying Trentham fairies, shimmering leaves and Father Christmas, with a story that unfolds on and around the walls of Trentham Parish Church. With 15 different light displays in total, the installations form a trail around the incredible grounds of Trentham creating a magical journey set to amaze the senses.

Visitors will be treated to surprises around every corner and with music specially composed to enhance the installations, guests can expect a dramatic, atmospheric soundtrack to accompany them as they make their way around.

A variety of festive food & drink is available to enjoy on the journey around the trail from a host of local vendors. A highlight includes a spectacular fire pit where guests are given the chance to purchase marshmallows for toasting.

To top the entertainment off, there is a magical fairground to accompany the trail where visitors can experience unrivalled views of the light trail from the helter-skelter and Ferris wheel.

Tickets start from £13 for children and £19.50 for adults. Family tickets can be purchased for £58. All tickets are subject to booking fees.

Unique to Trentham, a selection of private igloos will be on offer to make visitor’s experience extra special. The 8-person igloos boast views of the award-winning Italian Garden and include priority entry, a welcome drink per person on arrival and a delicious festive sharing platter with sweet & savoury treats. The igloos are available to book exclusively for 90-minute slots at 5pm or 7pm for £180.50 for up to 8 people.

Centrally located just off junction 15 of the M6, Trentham is the perfect backdrop for a fun filled family Christmas, a romantic treat, or simply a place to come together to make unforgettable memories.

Christmas at Trentham runs until 9th January 2022.
