NSCG Charity Auction raises over £7,000 for homelessness charity The Macari Foundation
On 14th February 2025, Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) hosted a dazzling evening of charity and celebration at the annual Pizza and Prosecco Charity Auction, held at NSCG’s Performing Arts Centre.
Raising an incredible £7,192, the funds will be donated to local homelessness charity The Macari Centre, with the centre’s founder, former footballer and Stoke City Manager Lou Macari, attending the event as Guest of Honour.
Tying in with National Apprenticeship Week 2025, the evening was also a chance to highlight the importance of apprenticeship pathways and provided an opportunity to celebrate the employers who work with NSCG, with an awards ceremony recognising excellence in various categories.
Jane Tunnicliff, Director of Apprenticeships at NSCG, said: “The Pizza and Prosecco event was a fabulous end to National Apprenticeship Week 2025! We’ve celebrated our phenomenal employer partners who enable young talent to thrive through outstanding apprenticeship provision, and have gone on to raise a huge amount for The Macari Foundation- with lots of fun and laughter along the way!”
Guests enjoyed an evening of fun and fizz, featuring entertainment from Poet Laureate Nick Degg. Toby Hall from Leighton Hall Auctions led the charity auction, encouraging attendees to bid generously on a selection of fantastic gifts and experiences donated by NSCG’s staff members, employer partners and local businesses.
The event was kindly sponsored by Keele University, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, Newcastle-under-Lyme BID, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, Mounsey Chartered Surveyors, EMS Industries Ltd., KMF Group, Hitachi and Panda Press.
