Roar into the bank holiday with Statfold’s spectacular Jurassic Weekend

Statfold will host a spectacular range of roar-some activities as part of its Jurassic Weekend over May Bank Holiday (April 29-May 1).

Dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes will return to the Tamworth attraction after a sell-out success last year – and this year’s will be bigger and better than ever.

Magnificent prehistoric beasts will be roaming amongst the railways including Tiny, Europe’s largest walking T-Rex at 27-feet long; and Bronwen, Europe’s largest walking herbivore at just under 10-feet tall.

It is one of the largest scale collections of dinosaurs in the UK, with the likes of Loki and Echo the Velociraptors, Dylan the Dilophosaurus, Angus the Ankylosauraus and more than a dozen baby dinos causing chaos throughout the weekend.

Jump on board the Statfold Jurassic Express and ride along the award-winning railway whilst keeping a watchful eye out for hidden letters which spell out the name of a dinosaur.

Venture down to the brand new Mease Valley Woods to put your Dinosaur Wrangler skills to the test and hunt for different species. Budding paleontologists will be able to have a go at fossil-digging in the Dino Dig area.

Become a ranger and learn how to train a raptor, have a selfie with Europe’s largest T-Rex and try and feed Europe’s tallest brontosaurus. There will also be live shows and lots of other juicy Jurassic morsels to enjoy.

Besides the dino delights, enjoy unlimited steam train rides, indoor Soft Play, an adventure Climbing Centre, Retro Roller Disco and much more.

Discover the magic of steam on the award-winning Statfold Barn Railway, home to the UK’s finest collection of narrow-gauge locomotives including more than 30 steam engines.

The Roundhouse Museum, with its dozen tracks radiating out from the central turntable, houses most of the collection and provides a fascinating insight into narrow-gauge locomotives from all over the world.

With its unique mix of attractions, including everything from giant North American Trucks to vintage trams, Statfold is a great day out for visitors of all ages.

Tickets for the Jurassic Weekend are £15.95 for adults and £13.95 for children. A family ticket (for four) is £55.
