South Staffordshire College receives keys to new landmark Tamworth College
South Staffordshire College is delighted to announce that the keys to the new Tamworth College have been received from contractor Kier.
The new Tamworth College, located within St Editha’s Square, and just a stone’s throw away from Tamworth Castle and the town’s main shopping centre, will provide students with a modern and inspiring learning environment right at the centre of the community.
The relocation also marks a new chapter for Tamworth College, bringing students closer to the town’s heritage, culture, and amenities while strengthening links with local employers and businesses.
Principal & Chief Executive, Claire Boliver said, “This is a huge milestone for our staff, students, and the wider Tamworth community. It is more than just a new building – it’s an investment in young people, adults, skills, and the future of the town. We are delighted to now have the keys in hand and can’t wait to welcome students through the doors.”
Tamworth College will welcome its first students for induction next week, marking the beginning of an exciting new era. The future-ready building has been designed with skills for the future in mind, offering first-class facilities to support a wide range of courses and career-focused training. By placing education at the very heart of the town, the new college will play a vital role in meeting local and regional skills needs, helping to create a workforce ready for tomorrow.
