Staffordshire film office showcases new police documentary ahead of TV broadcast

Staffordshire’s film office has showcased the first episode of the latest series of a police documentary which was shot in the county.

The premier of Motorway Cops was shown at the Gatehouse Theatre with an invited audience of around 100 people on Wednesday 1 April.

Hosted in partnership between film office Screen Staffordshire, Purple Productions, Objective Media Group and the Royal Television Society Midlands, it featured episode one of the tenth series of the show – shot with Staffordshire Police between September and December 2025.

A panel session was held after the screening which included Staffordshire Police and the programme’s series editor and creative director. The series will start on Monday 13 April on Channel 5.

Screen Staffordshire supports film makers to create their productions successfully in the county and make the job as seamless as possible. It helps with locations, permissions, crew, suppliers and any other production needs. It was set up by We Are Staffordshire and is part of the county council. It works closely with the district, borough and city councils.

Robin Hall, Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for economy and skills said:

This was a fantastic evening which I was pleased to be able to attend and demonstrated the growing number of film and television productions coming to Staffordshire.

Screen Staffordshire helps production companies to achieve their aims and ambitions in our county. This not only puts Staffordshire on the map nationally and internationally, but helps to attract visitors, investment and local employment.”
