Staffordshire University hosts second TEDx event
Staffordshire University has hosted its second TEDx event featuring talks from a sensational line-up of speakers.
British middleweight champion boxer Nathan Heaney, award-winning playwright Deborah McAndrew and North Staffordshire based sculptor Andy Edwards all gave illuminating talks aligned to this year’s theme “Back to the Future”.
Also taking their place in the TEDx spotlight were co-founder of Affordable Food Stoke Nikki Barrett, foodie entrepreneur Cris Cohen of FEASTED and Patryk Majewski’s, an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist, whose talk centred around the development of antibiotics.
University professors Catherine Flick and Claire Gwinnett shared their ideas about responding to advancing technologies and growing problem of microplastic pollution respectively.
And completing the TEDxStaffordshireUniversity line up, alumni and media professional Genelle Aldred spoke about striving for more positive communications in a post-Brexit world while recent graduate Sharanya Ranganatha Urs grappled with the often taboo subject of sex education.
The prestigious event took place in the University’s Catalyst and filmed talks are now being shared with TED for possible inclusion on their global platform.
All filmed presentations will shortly be made available to view on the TEDxStaffordshireUniversity website.
