The Tawny celebrates Best Hotel Restaurant award for The Plumicorn
Staffordshire’s luxury hotel The Tawny is celebrating another major accolade after its restaurant, The Plumicorn, was named Best Hotel Restaurant at the 2026 Boutique Hotelier Awards.
The latest recognition marks the second major food and drink award for the Consall-based hotel this year and further strengthens The Plumicorn’s reputation as one of Staffordshire’s standout dining destinations.
Set within The Tawny’s 70-acre rewilded estate in the Staffordshire Moorlands, The Plumicorn offers modern, refined dining with a strong focus on seasonal ingredients and locally sourced produce.
The restaurant’s latest success follows another significant achievement earlier this year, when The Tawny became the first hotel in Staffordshire to achieve three AA Rosettes for its restaurant.
The Best Hotel Restaurant award recognises hotels that are investing in their food and drink offer and delivering memorable dining experiences for both guests and local visitors.
Menus at The Plumicorn celebrate produce and flavours from the surrounding area, with dishes including Dunwood Farm beef fillet and raspberry cremeux featuring honey produced at The Tawny.
General Manager Josh Chadwick said:
“This is a fantastic achievement for everyone at The Tawny and a real testament to the passion and hard work of our team at The Plumicorn.
“We’ve worked hard to create a restaurant that feels connected to our Staffordshire home and offers something special for both hotel guests and local diners. To be recognised as Best Hotel Restaurant at the Boutique Hotelier Awards is a brilliant endorsement of the team and everything they’ve achieved.”
Judges also praised The Plumicorn’s continued growth, alongside its approach to local sourcing and sustainability.
The recognition didn’t stop there, with Josh also named as a finalist in the Sustainability Champion category at the awards.
Sustainability is a key part of The Tawny’s approach. The hotel currently operates off-grid, with some of its accommodation heated using biomass boilers and woodchip sourced from the estate. More than £100,000 has also been invested in solar panels as part of its ongoing commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
The latest award adds to a growing list of achievements for The Tawny and shines another spotlight on the quality of Staffordshire’s hospitality, food and drink offer.
