Trentham’s Community Day Celebrates Local Heroes and Raises Funds for Dougie Mac with only £5 entry!

Trentham Estate is excited to announce the return of its special Community Day, in partnership with Dougie Mac. Event entry is just £5 when booked in advance, with 50p from every ticket donated directly to Dougie Mac. The event takes place on Saturday 27th September, from 10am to 4pm, within the stunning grounds of Trentham Gardens.

Organised in collaboration with local emergency services, businesses, and the beloved charity Dougie Mac, Trentham’s Community Day is all about celebrating local heroes and raising funds to support vital hospice care across the region.

Visitors can look forward to action and interaction all day long. Meet Digging with Dave, as seen on ITV’s You Bet!, and climb aboard real emergency vehicles including police cars, a riot van, and a fire engine from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue. Say hello to BOBIE, the remote-control police car, and check out the impressive Aerial Ladder Platform. Get up close with the Midlands Air Ambulance helicopter pod and meet the life-saving crew. The British Army will be on-site with drone demos and criminal profiling activities, and Audley Parish Bowman will offer archery for those wanting to test their aim. Lego fans won’t want to miss influencer Neil Walker, a Stoke 100 Lego Star, and younger visitors can enjoy petting the therapy ponies from Woodside Barn.

Trentham’s own team will also be hosting a full line-up of interactive experiences. Drop into wildlife sessions in the Tipi and try your hand at minibeasting, mud painting, clay art, or making your own nature crown (10am-3pm). Meet the gardeners behind Trentham’s iconic landscapes and get hands-on with real tractors, mowers, and diggers. Don’t miss a chance to meet Fantasy Wire artist Robin Wight and watch live demonstrations of his stunning wire sculptures being created. For a scenic escape, hop on the iconic red shuttle bus along the lakeside or enjoy a peaceful boat ride on the lake.

Live demonstrations will run throughout the day. Watch the Sea Cadets in action with fitness routines and traditional signal flag displays. Gear up and have a go at target shooting with North Staffs Airsoft. Families can also join an interactive session with TinyTalks, where children and parents can learn basic British Sign Language.

The event will also welcome a wide range of community groups and charities, including the Pink Sisters and Misters Cancer Support, Alzheimer’s Research, Breathe Easy, The Blood Bikes, and the Safer Road Partnership. Visitors can also browse handcrafted jewellery from Daisy Chains and chat with members of the Trentham Boat Club.

On the performance stage, enjoy live music from the University Hospital Orchestra, dynamic dance routines from Urban Vibez Dance, and powerful spoken word and rap from Rough and Ruby Antidote, a mental health-focused youth group.

Food and drink will be available from Trentham’s own Totally Delicious, serving up Loaded Fries and Diggity Dogs, alongside pop-up food stalls offering sweets, Panda Catering, Spice Club, ice cream, and more across the gardens and event field.

Please note: All representatives and activities are subject to availability on the day.

Trentham Estate is proud to host this vibrant community celebration – bringing people together, recognising the dedication of our emergency services, and supporting a vital local cause.

Senior Director of Trentham, Alastair Budd, said: “We’re incredibly proud to welcome the community to Trentham for a day that shines a spotlight on the amazing work of our local emergency services and local business. This event is all about giving back, celebrating what makes Staffordshire special, and offering families a great day out for a great cause.”

Tickets are available for just £5 in advance from Trentham’s website and in person at the Trentham Visitor Centre. 50p from each ticket goes to Dougie Mac.

On the day: Tickets will be £10 for adults and £8 for children. Book now – https://trentham.co.uk/events/community-day/
