We Are Staffordshire Delivery Groups launched

In March, we held the launch event for our We Are Staffordshire Place Board Delivery Groups at Keele University, where we welcomed colleagues from a range of Staffordshire organisations and businesses who donated their time, expertise (and enthusiasm!) to share ideas to promote Staffordshire far and wide!

Three groups have been launched to focus on specific areas of activity and volunteers have been recruited who have specific experience in those areas. Our We Are Staffordshire Place Board members will be chairing the groups and leading activities.

The areas of focus are:

  • Young people taskforce – focusing on young people’s perceptions of Staffordshire, instil pride and present a compelling reason to stay; open opportunities/pathways to meaningful employment/training
  • External engagement /outreach – engaging, make connections and influence senior stakeholders and leaders beyond our borders who can make change happen
  • National PR and social media – supporting our mission to raise awareness of and grow Staffordshire’s reputation through positive national PR opportunities, journalist tours and features

Louisa Shaw, We Are Staffordshire Place Brand Manager said, “This launch represents a huge milestone after a year of talking to stakeholders, board members and businesses about my vision to launch collaborative groups. It’s the result of hours of conversations, workshops and 121s with our dedicated board members.

“I would like to thank everyone who gave their time (and in advance of future days) to attend the launch as we simply could not do this without them. Thank you also to our Place Board Chair, Hannah, and Cllr Philip White for speaking at the event.

“Days like this serve as a reminder of just how great Staffordshire is  and how lucky We Are Staffordshire is to work with so many different people to put our county on the map.

“We are at the start of this journey so if you would like to get involved, or have ideas to share and time to give, we’d love to hear from you!”
